Company Statement

Sadly we were recently alerted to another article written by our disgruntled competitor. His article is at best simplistic and at worst deliberately misleading. We choose to use our time and energy to address the health, welfare and happiness of our equine friends rather than engage in ongoing discourse, unprofessional and un-business like behaviour

We respect, value and hold our customers, stockists and supporters with the highest regard. With this in mind and to continue keeping you all updated, we have released the company statement below.

Jenquine has a small, select product range targeting specific equine veterinary clinical conditions.

Jenquine has been a pioneer and a leader in this field for over 10 years.

Jenquine products are formulated by a practising equine veterinarian and consultant nutritionist - consolidating a PhD in equine neonatology, an honours BSc in equine parasitology with over 40 years of clinical equine veterinary experience.

Jenquine developed Bone Formula® and Calsorb® - the first calcium supplements incorporating chelated, organic and inorganic calcium for horses grazing oxalate pastures and at risk for:

· osteoporosis (‘bighead’)

· oxalate toxicity causing chronic kidney failure

· calcium deficient diets.

A combination of inorganic and organic calcium is required, because the potential exists for both soluble and insoluble oxalates to cause veterinary clinical diseases in horses. There are many forms of organic calcium and repeated research has consistently demonstrated a similar biological effectiveness, equivalence and nutritional value for DL-methionine and MHA (which is converted to methionine in the liver).

The development of Bone Formula Forte® and Calsorb Forte® included measurement of parathyroid hormone, blood chemistry and manure mineral and enzyme analyses, working with specialist equine and dental veterinarians and research scientists at Royal North Shore Hospital diagnostic laboratory. The results were presented at the annual Equine Veterinary Bain Fallon Conference. A peer-review article co-authored by Dr Oliver Liyou and Professor Gary Wilson was published in the Australian Equine Veterinarian.

Over the years the formulation has been adjusted in line with current peer-reviewed research, changes in forage types and responses to field clinical trials. The amounts of inorganic and chelated organic calcium in Jenquine products is proprietary intellectual property, commercial-in-confidence. They were calculated on the basis of pathology results and blood tests and veterinary assessment of the response in horses with clinical and subclinical osteoporosis and kidney disease, in a range of situations, pastures management systems and locations. Bone Formula Forte® and Calsorb Forte® are market leaders and have improved the lives, productivity and welfare of horses around Australia for almost 15 years.

Jenquine is excited to announce the imminent release of our new, highly palatable, complete dietary supplement, low in starch, sugar, iron and NSC for all horses and their hooves – especially those at risk of developmental orthopaedic diseases, insulin-resistance, muscle problems including PSSM and tying-up and other equine veterinary clinical conditions.

Thank you to all our customers for your appreciation and support.

Please feel free to get in touch if you would like further information or you have any questions.

With best wishes
